Life form: evergreen, perennial herb ranging from 3 to 7 m tall
Distribution: southeastern Asia
Habitat: pioneer, e.g., after wildfire
Chromosome number: 2n = 2x = 22 (wild types), 2n = 3x = 33 (most cultivated types - infertile)
Use: fruit = food
