Kotoritomarazu (コトリトマラズ)
Life form: deciduous shrub ≈ 1-2 m high
Distribution: endemic to Japan (south to Kanto District)

escapted to Hokkaido

Habitat: forest edges and floors in the original regions
Seed dispersal: red fruits → animal
Utilization: gardening → cultivars, e.g., atropurpurea
