Matebashii (マテバシイ, 馬刀葉椎/全手葉椎), Japanese stone oak
Matebagashi (マテバガシ), or Mategashi (マテガシ), and many others
Lifeform: evergreen tall tree ≈ 15 m high
Distribution: endemic to Japan (south to Boso Peninsula, Kanto District)
Habitat: coasts
Seed dispersal: gravity (or cache by rodents)
Pollination: insect ↔ Quercus: wind
Use: garden canopy, street tree (prevention of fire and strong wind)
