Okuezosaishin (オクエゾサイシン, 奥蝦夷細辛), Chinese wild ginger (for var. mandshuricum, syn. A. mandshuricum)
Life form: perennial forb
Distribution: northern Japan - Sakhalin (when var. mandshuricum is excluded)

Habitat: forest floors between lowland and subalpine zones
Use: medicine, as expectorant, antitussive and spasmolysis (roots and rhizomes)
Synonyms:

Asarum sieboldii Miq. ssp. heterotropoides (F. Schmidt) Kitam.
Asiasarum heterotropoides (F. Schmidt) F. Maek.
