Distribution: south Europe

Exotic to Japan: reported from Tokyo, Kyoto, etc.

Habitat: sunny sites, such as roadsides and grasslands
Body: much hair
Flower: white, blooming in early spring
Chromosome number: 2n = 18, 36 or 54
