Murasaki (ムラサキ, 紫), red-root gromwell
Lifeform: perennial forb
Distribution: China - Korea - Japan
Habitat: grasslands
Use: root used as medicine (detox, blood circulation, external injury, burn injury, et.) of which components are shikonin and so on
Synonyms:

Lithospermum erythrorhizon Siebold et Zucc. Lithospermum officinale L. var. japonicum Miq. Lithospermum officinale L. ssp. erythrorhizon (Siebold et Zucc.) Hand.-Mazz.
