Lithospermum L. (ムラサキ)
Seiyoumurasaki (セイヨウムラサキ, 西洋紫), common gromwell or European stoneseed
Lifeform: erect, downy perennial forb
Distribution: Eurasia (Europe and Asia), not in Japan
Habitat: grasslands, scrublands and open woodlands
Use: ornamental and roots used as medicine (detox, blood circulation, external injury, burn injury, et.) of which components are shikonin and so on
Synonyms:

Margarospermum officinale (L.) Decne.
Lithospermum officinale L. var. stewartii Kazmi, discarded
