Oka-ukogi (オカウコギ, 丘五加木)
Lifeform: deciduous shrub ≈ 2 m in the maximum height
Distribution: endemic to Japan (south to Honshu)
Habitat: open forests and forest edges
Leaf: five leaflets with clear teeth
Synonyms:
Eleutherococcus spinosus (L. f.) S. Y. Hu var. japonicus (Franch. et Sav.) H. Ohba, used when the genus estabishes
