Life form: perennial herb with 40 cm in height
Distribution: North America (East Coast - New England - west across Ontario - central Canada - North Dakota)

Hokkaido Blue List: B, firstly reported from Onbetsu in the case of Hokkaido(Murata 1982)

Habitat: forest edges, meadows and fields, shores of rivers and lakes
Leaf: less stalk
Stem: wingless
Flower color: blue to purple or white
