Lifeform: evergreen, perennial fern
Distribution: widespread in tropical zones, including south to Niigata and Fukushima Prefecture of Japan
Habitat: on mesic soil in sunny sites, such as forest edges
Chromosome number: n = 48, and others
Synonyms:

Odontosoria chinensis (L.) J. Sm., often used
Sphenomeris chusana (L.) Copel.
Stenoloma chusanum (L.) Ching
