Lifeform: evergreen, perennial fern, developing short rhizomes
Distribution: tropical and subtropical regions of the Old World
Habitat: epiphyte or lithophyte in moist, shaded habitats, such as on trees, rocks or soil
cv. grandiceps
Shishibataniwatari (シシバタニワタリ, 獅子葉谷渡), fish-tail fern, climbing bird's nest fern, dwarf elkhorn fern or wart fern
Tosaka-ayameshida (トサカアヤメシダ, 鶏冠菖蒲羊歯)
Use: gardening and ornamental - a few varieties, such as grandiceps
