Bodaiju (ボダイジュ, 菩提樹), temple lime or linden
Kobashinanoki (コバシナノキ, 小葉科木)
Lifeform: deciduous tree ≈ 10 m in height
Distribution: China (nhui, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Jiangxi and Zhejiang), imported to Japan in 12th Century
Habitat: woodlands
Bark (樹皮)
Use: garden tree, often transplanted in temples
Synonyms (discarded):

Tilia franchetiana C. K. Schneid.
Tilia mandshurica sens. Miq., non Rupr. et Maxim.
