Gomphocarpus R. Br. (フウセントウワタ)
One species used for gardening in Japan, that is:
Fuusentouwata (フウセントウワタ, 風船唐綿), balloon cotton, wild cotton, balloon plant
Lifeform: evergreen, short shrub (cold-intolerant, treated as annual for gardening in Japan)
Distribution: South Africa - Ethiopia
Habitat: grasslands and bushlands, often along roadsides and in disturbed areas
Synonyms:

Gomphocarpus fruticosus auct. non (L.) W. T. Aiton
Asclepias physocarpa (E. Mey.) Schltr.
