Distribution: native to Mexico and Guatemala
Habitat: Madrean and Mesoamerican pine-oak forests between 1800 m and 2700 m

→ cold-tolerant > 0°C (weak to frost)

Flower: tubular red
Utilization: ornamental tree → cultivars
