Oranda-nadeshiko (オランダナデシコ, 阿蘭陀撫子)
カーネーション/オランダセキチク, carnation or clove pink
Lifeform: perennial forb < 80 cm in height, treated as annual or biennial for gardening
Distribution: native probably to the Mediterranean regions in southern Europe and western Asia

introduced to Japan in the early Edo Era

Habitat: limestone soils, often found on old walls (in Britain)
Use: ornamental and gardening
Cultivars ≈ D. caryophyllus × D. plumarius
