Spergularia (Pers.) J. Presl et C. Presl (ウシオツメクサ)
Usubenitsumekusa (ウスベニツメクサ, 薄紅爪草), red sandspurrey or roadside sandspurry
Lifeform: weedy, annual/prennial forb < 25 cm high
Distribution: native to Europe and Asia (exotic to Japan)
Habitat: roadside, open space, seashore, etc.

Check also S. marina and S. bocconii when the habitat is seashore

Pilus (線毛): sparsely on leaves and upper parts of stems
Chromosome number: 2n = 18, 27, 36 or 54
