Prunus L. (サクラ)
Uwamizuzakura (ウワミズザクラ, 上溝桜/上不見桜), Japanese bird cherry or Gray's bird cherry
Lifeform: deciduous tree with 8-20 m in height
Distribution: China - Japan (south to southeastern Hokkaido)

Phylogenetically close to Prunus padus (エゾノウワミズザクラ)

Habitat: mountainous, mesic forests
Fruit: green → red → black (animal dispersal)
Use: food (fruit) and gardening
Synonyms:

Padus grayana (Maxim.) C. K. Schneid.
Prunus padus L. var. japonica Miq.
