Cyperus L. (カヤツリグサ)
Tamagayatsuri (タマガヤツリ, 珠/玉蚊帳吊), smallflower umbrella sedge, small-flowered nutsedge or variable sedge
Lifeform: weedy, annual sedge, sometimes behaving as a perennial
Distribution: widespread in the Old World
Habitat: wetlands, including paddy fields
Fruit: achenes (0.6-0.8 mm × 0.3-0.4 mm)
Chromosome number: 2n = 18, 28, 32, 34 or 36
Synonyms, discarded varieties:

- var. breviglobosus Kük.
- var. subdecompositus Kük.
- f. humilis Debeaux
- f. maximus C. B. Clarke
