Lifeform: summergreen (≈ deciduous) perennial fern
Distribution: widespread in eastern Asia, i.e., (Himalayas) - China - Japan
Habitat: forest floor - forest edge
Synonyms:

Matteuccia orientalis (Hook.) Trevis., often used
Pentarhizidium orientale (Hook.) Hayata, maybe standard recently
