Ottachi-katabami (オッタチカタバミ, おっ立ち片喰), slender yellow woodsorrel
Lifeform: weedy perennial forb
Distribution: native to north America (exotic to Japan)
Habitat: disturbed sites, such as roadsides, railroads, gravel-bars, wasteground, lawns, and gardens
Leaf: sour (oxalic acid)
Stem/branch: fairly dense, short, appressed hairs, becoming less hairy with age
Fruit: green, banana-shaped capsule
Seed dispersal: self
