Gnaphalium L. (ハハコグサ)
Hakogusa (ハハコグサ, 母子草), jersey cudweed (= G. luteoalbum)
Lifeform: biennial forb ≈ 10-30 cm high, overwintered by rosettes
Distribution: India - China - Japan
Habitat: disturbed sites, such as roadsides, cropfields, etc.

sometimes establishing on baregrounds near fumaroles on Mount Usu (flora)

Use: gogyo (ゴギョウ, 御形) = the seven spring herbs (春の七草)
