Distribution: China - Japan (between Ryuku and Kanagawa Prefectrue)
Habitat: in evergreen forests near seacoast and on rocky stretches
Pollination: wind
Seed dispersal: gravity or cache by acorns
Utilization: street tree, sumi charcoal (備長炭)
