Rumex L. (スイバ)
suiba (スイバ, 酢葉), (common) sorrel
Lifeform: perennial forb (dioecism) with 50-80 cm in height
Distribution: temperate regions between Europe and Asia
Habitat: sunny arablelands and grasslands as a weed (雑草)
Use: wild vegetable = edible, and medicine

Poison: not reported. The leaves and stems contain sugars and fats (→ acidic flavor). The roots contain tannin,
Oseille (Fr.) = sorrel, young shoots used for salad
