Phragmites Adans. (ヨシ)
Tsuruyoshi (ツルヨシ, 蔓葦), Japanese reed (* tentative)
Lifeform: perennial grass, producing aboveground stoloniferous shoots only
Distribution: Ryukyu Islands - Japan - Korea - Russian Far East
Habitat: sandy, wet sites, including streamsides
Flower: after August
Leaf: 10-30 cm long and 2-3 cm wide, sometimes becoming red at the top
