Blechnum L. (ヒリュウシダ)
Burajirushishigashira (ブラジルシシガシラ, 伯剌西爾獅子頭), Brazilian dwarf tree fern, red Brazilian tree fern or red dwarf tree fern
Life form: evergreen, tree-like fern, with 1-2 m in height
Distribution: Brazil - Peru

sensitive to cold (minimum tolerance 15°C)

Habitat: grasslands along streams, in rank vegetation, on grassy hillsides, along the margins of evergreen forests and on roadsides
Chromosome number: 2n = 66
Use: ornamental, glasshouse, street tree (in the southern part of Japan)
Synonyms:

Neoblechnum brasiliense (Desv.) Gasper et V. A. O. Dittrich, used when the genus is established (PPGI)

Cultivars: Crispum, segments have prominently crisped margins. Cristatum, segments are crested. Volcano, red dwarf tree fern, new foliage is red
