Shurosou (シュロソウ, 棕櫚草, s.l.), hairy false-hellebore
Life form: perennial forb with 50-100 cm in height
Distribution: Russia - China - Korea - Japan (Hokkaido and Honshu)
Habitat: wetlands and forest floors
Chromosome number: 2n = 16
Use: rhizomes used as insecticide for agricultural use
