Hakumokuren (ハクモクレン, 白木蓮/白木蘭), Yulan magnolia
Lifeform: deciduous tree = 10-15 m high
Distribution: native to central and eastern China
Use: garden tree
Flower: a lot of aromic flowers before leaf flushing in the early spring. The flower is not fully-oponed and turns up, as compared with M. kobus

white ↔ M. liliiflora, showy pink - pale pink

Floral language: noble heart (高潔な心)
Chromosome number: 2n = 76 or 114
