Lifeform: rhizomatous, perennial forb
Distribution: eastern Asia, including Korea and Japan (except Hokkaido) - North America
Habitat: deciduous forests and open, evergreen forests
Seed dispersal: myrmecochory (ant dispersal) by producing elaiosome
Poison: yellow latex sap
Use: gardening
Synonyms:

Chelidonium japonicum Thunb., when merged into Chelidonium Hylomecon vernalis Maxim., often used
