Mizume (ミズメ, 水芽/水目), Japanese cherry birch
アズサ(梓), アズサカンバ(梓樺), ヨグソミネバリ(夜糞峰榛)
Lifeform: deciduous tree < 25 m in height
Distribution: endemic to Japan (between Iwate Prefecture and Kyushu)
Habitat: lowland and mountainous forests
Bark (樹皮)
Tree sap: salomethyl odor
Use: same with Betula maximowicziana

Used as a material for the "Azusa Bow" used by shrine maidens in rituals since ancient times
