Lifeform: rhizomatous, perennial forb, sometimes categorized into alpine plant
Distribution: endemic to Japan (north to central Honshu)

Hokkaido: Mount Tokachi, Mounts Hidaka, Mount Apoi, Mounts Niseko
Honshu (Mount Hakkoda, Mount Hachimandaira, Mount Iwate, Mount Akita-Koma, Mount Hayachine, Mount Higashi-Azuma, North Alps)

Habitat: sanyd and rocky sites
