Veratrum L. (シュロソウ)
Kobaikeisou (コバイケイソウ, 小梅蕙草)
Life form: deciduous, perennial forb
Distribution: endemic to northern Japan (Hokkaido- Honshu)
Habitat: sunny, wet sites (sometimes establishes with Veratrum albumwetland (湿原)

Poison: containing alkaloid (mainly protoveratrine, jervine, and veratramine) in the whole plant
