Distribution: tropical and substropical regions (unclear), including Japan (south to Tohoku District, but not in Ryuku and Bonin Islands)
Habitat: sunny forest floor

Mount Takao forest for recreational use (高尾山自然休養林)

Leaf: dimorphic (vegetative and sexual) → Number of veins
Synonyms: Pteris nervosa Thunb.
Use: gardening → cultivars
