Lifeform: perennial sedge < 40 cm high

Root system: fibrous and short-rhizomatous

Distribution: Sakhalin - northern Japan - North America
Habitat: widespread in moist and wet habitats
Synonyms:

Loncoperis stipata (Muhlenb. ex Willd.) Raf.
Vignea stipata (Muhlenb. ex Willd.) Rchb.

Flowering in an area, where the Otaru-Yoichi wind farm was planned, observed on June 15 2023.
