Life form: ruderal annual forb
Distribution: north America (exotic to Japan, probably introduced in Meiji Era)
Habitat: roadsides, cropfields, etc.
Seed dispersal: animal (ant) by elaiosome
Synonyms:

Chamaesyce maculata (L.) Small, the standard
Chamaesyce supina (Raf.) Moldenke
Euphorbia maculata L. (Euphorbia maculata auct. non L. is different species)
