Neoshirakia Esser (シラキ) Shiraki (シラキ, 白木), milktree (or tallow tree, also used for Triadica sebifera) Lifeform: deciduous shrub or short tree Distribution: eastern Asia, i.e., China - Korea - Japan (south to Honshu) Habitat: on broad-leaved forests in mountainous regions, especially valley areas Leaf: alternate, ovate-elliptic blade with 7–17 cm long and 6–11 cm wide

Seed dispersal: animal (bird) Synonyms: Sapium japonicum (Siebold et Zucc.) Pax et K. Hoffm. Sapium japonicum (Siebold et Zucc.) Pax et K.Hoffm. var. ryukyuense Masam. (アツバシラキ), discarded Triadica japonica (Siebold et Zucc.) Baillon, firstly assigned Triadica japonica (Siebold et Zucc.) Baillon f. macrophylla Hurus. (オオバシラキ)
