Chahikimugi (チャヒキムギ)
Life form: perennial grass
Distribution: native to Europe, temperate Asia and northern Africa (extotic to Japan, introduced for meadow and erosion control)

Habitat: sunny sites, such as grasslands (often see along roadsides)
