Hypochaeris L. (エゾコウゾリナ)
Butana (ブタナ, 豚菜) / Tanpopomodoki (タンポポモドキ, 蒲公英擬), hairy catsear, flatweed or false dandelion

Fr: Salade de porc → salad for pig
Firstly reported as Tanpopomodoki from Makomanai in Sapporo (舘脇 1933)

Lifeform: perennial forb
Distribution: native to Europe (exotic to Japan)

Hokkaido Blue List: A2

Habitat: baregrounds, and grasslands, including lawns
Achene: with beak (⇔ without beak = H. glabra)
Seedbank: developing transient seedbank because of short longevity < 2 months
Use: edible when young

Hypochoeris, a misspelling of Hypochaeris (Asteraceae) (Tsuyuzaki & Kitayama 1996)

[7] at a southwestern slope, Mount Koma, southern Hokkaido, on July 8 2012. So scary, because the plant established with Gaultheria miqueliana. [8] beside a building in N24/E1, East Ward, Sapporo, on June 6 2019. Records: in N28/E4, East Ward, Sapporo, on August 31 2009.
