Sanagi (サナギ)
Lifeform: evergreen needle-leaved tree, occasionally becoming 40 m in height and 1.5-2 m in DBH
Distribution: endemic to Japan (south to Akita Prefecture, more in Pacific Sea side than in Japan Sea side)
Habitat: forests
Seed: wind-dispersal by wing
Use: wooden apparatus (in particular for coffin), sometimes for gardening
Indicator species: air pollution
